Precedent Studies: Museum of Liverpool & Pier Head Ferry Terminal

Pier Head Ferry Terminal by Hamilton Architects
Design of Pier Head Ferry Terminal, Liverpool by Hamilton Architects
I was firstly attracted by the shape of this interesting architecture. This is Pier Head Ferry Terminal in The Albert Dock, which is designed by Hamilton Architects. This ferry terminal is close to the Museum of Liverpool. Two main features interested me: first is the long strip window on the second wall and the structure of large on upper and small on lower; second is the usage of rooftop area, which is a restaurant and is totally open.

In this project, what I tried to apply into my own design is the connection of Art Gallery/Museum and the idea from Villa Savoye created by Le Corbusier. The Museum of Liverpool is an interesting precedent in this project.
